Copywriting for Business
As well as working in fiction and poetry, I also work as a copy writer. It may seem unusual to find a poet who also writes brochures and web copy for an IT services company, or a medical research organisation, for example, but I feel that the two are closely linked. The challenge is finding creative ways to express an idea and reach your audience. It's also about thinking carefully about the power of words and how they can be put to use.
Good copy isn’t about stand-alone items of text; it’s about key messaging that directly matches the buyer’s decision-making process and answers their questions before they ask them. In today’s information-abundant economy, less really is more. Prospects expect immediate answers to questions and quickly switch to competitor sites if information isn’t presented how they want it.
By taking the time to fully understand my clients’ business and the needs of their customers, I am able to write compelling copy that speaks directly to buyers’ needs while building brand loyalty and, more importantly, closing sales.
